Applying Domain-Driven Design to APIs and Microservices

How do I design a reusable API that meets developer and customer needs? How do I know that I have the right-sized microservices with the proper boundaries? Teams are excited about the prospects of building solutions with APIs and microservices. However, without a proper architectural view and design process the result is often a release of less-than-ideal API and microservice design that meets immediate needs but requires a complete redesign.

This talk will demonstrate how systems design and domain-driven design can be used to create clear, well-designed, long-lasting APIs and microservices. Applying these principles will result in a cleaner API design, help identify API product and microservice boundaries, and identify new API product opportunities.
