Hacking the Panama Papers - 0-60 with Neo4j, Cypher, Java

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

Graph Databases were used by the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists (ICIJ) to uncover the Panama Papers data.

Why Graph Databases?  They are the best way to represent and uncover connections between entities, such as coprorations, law firms, board members, etc.  It is also a natural data model for 400+ data journalists around the world to interact with.

This session will provide background information on the Panama Papers dataset and process.  We'll then give an introduction to the Property Graph data model and show how the Panama Papers data was modeled.  We'll show how to build Cypher queries to match and return patterns in the graph.

Want to use the power of Java to interact with the graph data? We'll show you how to run Java Stored Procedures on the data.

We'll also cover how the ICIJ built a public and interactive tutorial for their data that runs inside the Neo4j Browser.
