The massive growth of IoT infrastructures and the edge devices that comprise them has made it inefficient - and in some instances, flat out illogical - to transport all data back to a centralized core for analysis. Successful analytics initiatives in the modern IoT world will thus be those that apply predictive models and run analytics at the edge - directly at the source of data. This not only eliminates the time, effort and expense required to transport data, but it allows for immediate action to be taken in response to insights. In this in-depth session, Shawn Rogers, chief researcher officer for Dell Statistica, and John K. Thompson, general manager, Dell Statistica, will discuss the benefits of, challenges associated with, and primary use cases for modern edge analytics.
